This paper analyzes Brazilian
demographic trends and the factors that influence them, such as fertility rates, life expectancy
and migration. The paper shows how over the past century Brazil's population and life
expectancy have grown, while many of its citizens have migrated to urbanized areas, which has drastically reshaped the
