This paper begins by explaining that as the world moves toward a global economy,
machine translation is the growing wave
of the future; with these machines translating passages into another
language almost instantaneously. The paper addresses the fears of the
translation profession, that it will become obsolete in the near future. However, this paper argues that though machine translators will undoubtedly prove to be a useful tool and time-saving device, they will still need human intervention in order to maintain the quality of translation needed in businesses today.
