This paper demonstrates that African leaders have contributed significantly to the growing
problems of
poverty in the Sub-Saharan
African region by failing to address endemic
problems of embezzlement, bribery, corruption, and nepotism. The paper also shows that many of these leaders are unable to institute effective economic and agricultural development policies geared towards uplifting the African people from their current state of
poverty to that of self-reliance.
