This paper examines how there was a great intellectual
revolution in Scotland during the eighteenth century and three of
its leading personalities were Francis
Hutcheson, Adam Ferguson and Adam Smith. It looks at how they all had their own and individual
contributions to the progress of human thought and how their approaches to human development were sympathetic to the underdeveloped people.
