This paper reviews and analyzes William Rawlins's essay on
teaching. The paper highlights Rawlins's theme and argues that,
while his essay definitely reflects an interpretive
approach to theorizing, there are also obvious flaws in his approach, which make "
Teaching as a Mode of Friendship" subject to criticism from critical theorists. The paper then attempts to analyze Rawlins's essay from a post-positivist point of view and tells why this point of view does and does not work.
