This paper examines how many of the views and behavior of America and its citizens have changed since the terrorist attacks
against the United States on the 11th of September 2001. The paper looks at some of the different measures that have been enacted as a result of these attacks including changes in airline
security, homeland security and the introduction of a public alert system to help prepare for any future, or potential threat to the United States. The paper also discusses how the public's perception of terrorism has changed and how this has influenced the
government's decision to take a harder line on such issues as the treatment of prisoners of war or Saddam Hussein.
