paper argues that U.S. motivations for entering Iraq and leading a
war against that country were entirely self-motivated.
The
paper posits that the
war in Iraq was initiated to secure U.S. access to the vast oil fields there and so the U.S. could establish military bases on Iraqi soil. U.S. involvement there, according to this paper, was anything but humanitarian.
