I. Promoting a review
Bookmarking function
With bookmarking tool we can easily get our summary indexed in search engines, especially in Google. After clicking the big arrow pointing to the right under the reviews, we can chose the sites we want to share or bookmark. Best choice is to select the top 3-4 sites, namely
Digg.com,
Mixx.com,
Stumbleupon.com and
Delicious.com. We have to sign up to these sites but it’s fast and we can open a free account. Then we can easily share the review link usually with a short description which make easier for the search engines to find them on Shvoong.
Facebook „Like” button
Every review could be liked by a FB button. The more people like our review the more people will know it on Facebook. That’s why it is very important to write funny or extremely interesting summaries full of informations.
Facebook „Share” button
The Facebook share button is located next to every single summary. It is very important to tell the reader if s/he likes our summary press the like button and share button to help us spread the word.
Twitter button
Once you created a new summary just click Twitter button and tweet about it with the link of the given review. It’s also beneficial to tell the readers to do so if they like our post. Be sure you use free online link shortener (bit.ly for example) and use some popular #hashtags that are related to your summary.
„Ask a question” function
On the English language Shvoong site you can find an „Ask a question” section where the readers can ask the review writer all those things they are interested in. When the reader asks a question it means the site on our url is refreshed with new content that Google likes very much. Other advantage is that this question could be shared on facebook as well which gives extra publicity to our summary.
Commenting
It is important because the more comments a review get the more Google friendly it is. Comments mean new content to our summary and consequently we get a better search engine ranking position. The more comments a review gets, the more curiosity it raises in potential Shvoong readers.
Tagging
You can „tag” your summary with the most relevant words and expressions that show what your review is about. It helps the potential reader to decide wether it’s worth reading it and also helps search engines to find yout reviews. The smartest thing is taggying the 4-5 most relevant keywords of your review.
Linking your reviews together
If you have several reviews about an interesting topic on Shvoong.com your readers tend to be interested in all of them. To help them find your other reviews add a link to them under the text body. As an anchor text give your main keyword. The link should be your url of the other review.
II. Being effective
RSS feed
This is a smart feature that we can use to get fast information about a given category on Shvoong. We can sign up to the rss feed of a certain Shvoong category in every language, then later in our rss feed reader we can check the newest summaries easily. Very practical and only a very few people use it.
Summerizer
With this Shvoong tool you can summerize every text with a click. Before doing it you can select the % of your summerization. The sentences of the new version will be shown in different colours. It is very important that we summarize our own texts or texts with Public Label Right (PLR). After summerizing, rewrite it further, give your own thoughts, opinion and feelings. It is useful to reread it to check grammer, to give some extra sentences and make some changes where necessary. Be sure to give an own and original summary, plagiarism is completely forbidden.
