There are several effects attained of giving reward. This reward aimed to improve students’ achievement. They can be either tangibles or intangibles. When teachers give the prize for their students; such as giving new books, candies and chocolates, those are tangibles. The educators can also give the praise for their students who are showing excellent achievement. Those things are what we call intangibles. First, giving reward makes students diligent in studying, so they are motivated to do more and finish the homework given. Moreover, diligent students will create a competitive atmosphere within the classroom, so none of the student wants to be lazy. Furthermore, since this competitive atmosphere always leds the students to spend much of their time for studying and discussing with each other. As a result, their achievement is going to increase. Consequently, giving reward for students in teaching-learning process is needed for their better achievement.
