Nietzsche''sgenealogical investigation of western moral beliefs reveal several important stages of development. Moral codes in the beginning and reinforced externally enforced through punishment and harsh discipline.

Constant fear of punishment by any individual to necessarily be a major boost for memory training and this later led to the embedded sense of personal responsibility.
