To solve this
puzzle which has 9
rows and 9 columns, 9 3X3 boxes with a total of 81 fields. The basics for
solving this puzzle are:
1. Only
digits from 1 to 9 should be used for solving the puzzel.
2. Any digit should not repeat itself in the same row/
column.
3. The
digit should also not be repeated inside the same 3X3 box of the puzzle sheet.
Now let me set some shortcuts for solving the puzzle. These are
1. Look for same digits on any 2 adjascent coloumns or rows.
This tells us where the 3rd occurance of this digit should be, even if not exactly sometimes it will ensure the column/row where it will occur. This is TRIANGULATING.
NOTE: Each digit 1-9 has only NINE occurances in the solution of the puzzle.
*** Repeat short cut 1 for rows also, and note the 2 adjascent rows/columns should not be separated by the borders of a 3X3 box. ***
2. Start finding the remaining digits of each row/column/ 3X3 box, also if the puzzle is harder u may need to remember the possibility of few numbers of the same row/column.
3. When you have only 3 digits left to fill a 3X3 box, and these
blank fields form an 'L' shape then make sure that a digit which is in the column/row which has 2 blanks of the 'L' shape will be on the 3rd blank field.
Once practicing these steps for solving successful puzzles you can increase your speed. It takes about 11-12 minutes for solving an easy sudoku puzzle, 15-25 minutes for moderate level and more than 25 minutes for hard or diabolical sudoku puzzles.
The solution of the puzzle is verified correct if all the digits from 1-9 occur in each row and each column and each 3X3 box without repetition.
