On the Military Channel on February 9th at 8:00 p.m. is a story called An Ocean Away. It is about the final return of the
remains of Lt. Donald Matocha, USMC. He was on recon patrol with his unit. The time was April of 1968. Lt. Matocha became amongst the missing for three decades. At long last his remains are at rest here in the United States. Thanks to the efforts of his two sisters did this come about.
The story is worth watching if only to see the diligence some
families have in not ever giving up. After seeing the trailer for this show and reading about the man and his unit no Nam Vet should miss this show. No family of any POW-Mia should miss this program. Another
brother has come home. It means there is hope for every one still unaccounted for.
For this veteran, it is reassuring there is a Higher Power looking over these men and women. To the families of the yet missing, don't lose faith. Maybe someday it'll be your son or brother laid to rest at last.
In the meantime, watch An Ocean Away. It'll be worth the trip.
