WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF
CINEMA!
Cinema, ever since its inception has become an integral part of our lives! Today its difficult to separate cinema from our selves because either cinema is influencing us or we are influencing the cinema! Because of this cinema has to become a tool to influence our thoughts for a better
society and for us to be better human beings! Just like books used for revolutionizing peoples thought before the invention of cinema, similarly and with even more greater
impact cinema can be used for a different kind of revolution!
Every Friday Bollywood releases many
films and banks on various gimmicks to attract the audiences to the theatre! But how many films succeed? Very few that you can count on your fingers! Others disappear faster than they appeared! These films have no entertainment value forget them having any social message or social responsibility towards us. They are simply made with an eye on the revenue. So today cinema has become more of a business and less of a creative art! These types of films are criminal waste of raw stocks that form a great part of the budget allotted for a film. Once their films flop they don’t clear the payments of their technicians giving the excuse that their film flopped! Yet they go
ahead and start a new film! I wonder why do these people make films? Just because they have ample money or a Hollywood film has excited them are they justified in making a film?
No sir! The audience is avoiding such kinds of films. It’s high time these uneducated filmmakers stopped fooling and got on to doing something worthwhile with their lives!
But there are exceptions! Here we also have filmmakers who make films like LAGAN, SWADES and more recently RANG DE BASANTI. These are the films that makes us sit up and take notice of what is happening around us. It was just few days back that I went to see the film RANG DE BASANTI and believe you me I was not able to sleep the whole night! Such was the impact of the film on my mind! After watching this film I found the other films childish and useless! These are the films that will go into my personal collections of all time great books and films! So that when ever I get depressed I could go back and watch these films and get charged to move ahead in life and do something much more than just be a silent part of the society!
That’s the power of great cinema! And I really expect great films from them in coming years! These are the type of films that are capable of bringing a revolution in the society. The impact can be felt in the young generation! They are really awakening to a great
future!
In the era of globalization, Bollywood films are crossing the boundaries and reaching to audiences across the globe. So it is even more important to make films that the world will sit up to watch and appreciate. The future of Bollywood appears bright and we can feel the lost golden era arriving in the near future!
So will the real WRITERS, DIRECTORS & THE PRODUCERS rise to the occasion!!!
