Reasons of metaphysics of morality

Book Summary by: mulec

Original Author: Kant Immanuel
This abstract was translated from Uzasadnienie metafizyki moralności
Polish proverb says : you do not make other man that is ugly for you . It could be shortest and most simply to abstract Kant`s
thoughts , but I suppose the great thinker from Królewiec could be insulted , that such many his thinking over and conclusions I have closed in one folk proverb. However , something is in it. Do you like to be deceived by someone? Do you like to be manipulated by somebody in order to force you to do something you really do not want to do ? Do you like when somebody lies , if friend promises you something and then he does not keep word ? I am sure you are angry and you do not like such treating you. However do not we sometimes lie , deceive and do many another not always good things ? Why do we do so ? There are countless reasons – because we fear our parents , teachers ,bosses , we feel fear before punishment ,we feel fear before consequences , we feel fear before responsibility , because it is better to promise something for holy peace or because we see business for us in it. There are many people . There are many reasons. And do you agree this behaviour is not too good , is not too moral ? And exactly according to Kant the morality is the uppermost good . And what is the morality ? It is a main right , which we should abide for itself and not for different ( not always fair ) motives. If we do something ( even something good) but by a way we think about our profits , necessities , impulses and desires, if we realize only our aspirations to achievement of some aims then we can not say we abide the moral right in Kant`s awareness. The moral right for Kant is a pure idea ( even for him difficult to explaining) and only intelligent person at help free will can act according to such law . Only person leading own intelligence and not own senses or requirements can make such good moral acts . Such thinking man bestowed of free will and that goes behind it – freedom (because is not such person free , which always does in agreement with own conscience, not influenced , suggestions , temptations, own sometimes trivial , lowbrow desires , never undergoes fear , is such person not afraid to make its own choices and then takes responsibility for these choices ? ) does in such way how wants in order to each man does for him and according to such principles which can become common law. These principles , which demand through mind our free will to fulfil duty of obedience to a moral law the philosopher called the categorical imperative. Kant says very important and very wise thing – the man is always aim never means to purpose and everyone should treat another man like subject not object. The thinker created also the term : the state of purposes that is the state as the sum all purposes of all people ( if we assume , that all people will act according to the moral right of course ). Then use our mind in order to create our own code of conduct , our own principles – such principles , which all people could follow in them life . Then use free will in order to act according to these rules. Only when we treat ourselves and another human with respect we can live with self-respect. Do not tell me – nothing can be done about it ! because the world is bad , people are nasty . All around steal , lie , cheat , take the bribes , humiliate another man……. It is truth but we do not change all the world. There are sick people because we can called these people only this name when they harm second man. Greedy for power , greedy for blood and ready to kill in order to attain the aim. There are fanatics full of hate. There are such people , but we do not change all people . And if each of us want to change only one , sole man on this world – oneself ?......
