For most part in our lives we are unconsciously or consciously looking out for magic. We live tough lives sometimes bogged
down by real problems that seem to stretch far more than we would like to admit. We then seek answers from God, people, places, things always seeking to change or control all around us. Some of us are, and incredibly so, afraid of the Divine even though we admit and acknowledge the Divine to be the Source of all Love and Goodness in the world. Most often then we indulge in activities that we have no clue about- indeed our knowledge most often is very vague -but we hope that something, anything will happen that will change us somehow. And that wishing for, waiting for is akin to wanting Magic to happen. But alas when ‘magic’ happens its effects are only momentary before despair and waiting and wishing takes over again. But that’s what you can expect from magic.
On the other hand when a person studies him/herself and discovers that s/he is an integral part of Creation with all the wisdom of the Universe within him/herself and not without- when there is an earnest exploration of Truth, of oneself, it is only then that freedom occurs,
transformation occurs, the old dies and the New is born. This is a Miracle. Simply because it required no outside source but what was there already. Awakening brings such transformation that we did not imagine possible-which is what a miracle is- and we are blocked from miracles because we seek magic in a state of
ignorance of who we really are. Persons with a divine reality within us. We will know then that what we seek i.e. Love, Joy, Wisdom or any other Virtue is not to be found in stone or in the air or even from other people or things but within the depths of every Human being bar none. The essence of magic then is ignorance and the essence of Miracle is an awakening to who we really are.
