In San Diego at a children's hospital a respitory therapist got away with molesting children for at least ten years. His access to the boys and girls was never questioned. Committing the unspeakable offense is one thing. What makes it even more disgusting is his taking pictures while doing it. It was not just a couple of photo images either. When his computer hard drive was examined they found over one hundred thousand pornographic images. The stars of these colorful works of art was the suspect and his brain damaged victims.
It is the worst crime any person could commit against young boys and girls afflicted with long term injuries. When asked while being held in New York asked how many victims he abused, his reply was how many snow flakes were falling outside. How does such a monster have so free a rein he can do what he did? Where were the rest of the staff who suppposedly took care of the young patients? What happened to nurses aides who cleaned these patients up and saw nothing wrong? Sexual abuse leaves scars. Didn't at least one person see something out of place? The hospital is contacting the families of all past patients he may have had contact with. The numbers are sickening.
He for the time being faces two counts of abuse. There are many more pending. His lame excuse can be as sad as his behavior. Because he had no criminal past does not exonerate him. Because he passed every review makes his actions any less despicable. And because all of his victims, male and female, were unable to speak means he is lower than low. His crime is called the worst sexual abuse case in history.
Now the hospital will make changes. Now they will be observant of patient care. Now they will do the job better. For all this predator's victims, NOW is too late.
