When will the mothers out there so head strong on making beauty queens of their daughters the kids Don't Care? Poll a hundred contestants and they will validate that. Three year old darlings would rather play with Barbie Dolls than be dressed up like one. Five year old girls gvien a choice of pageants or tea parties prefer tea. These young ladies are driven by over obsessed mothers trying to fulfill their own dreams.
Countless documentaries and studies point out the side effects on growth of girls made to satisfy their mother's fantasies. Look at Jon Benet Ramsey. How many girls her age actually spend hours preparing and rehearsing just to appear cute enough for a trophy? How many children wake up and want to indulge in long periods of travel to compete for an award and a title no one gives a damn about.
Wake up Mothers of contestants. These are your dreams, not theirs. These are your chances in the spotlight, not theirs. And these are their lives to live, not Yours. Let them be children for God's sake. Allow the tea parties to happen. Permit the girls to be girls. The same applies to young boys sometimes caught up in the web. Though boy's contests are rare, they do the same damage.
Maybe if the mothers actually listened to their children they'd hear the truth. Perhaps if so much pressure was not applied these same children would not be afrraid to say the truth. And most of all, If real contests existed for real reasons and not to make someone rich, little boys and girls would not be subjected to this form of abuse, yes I said abuse.
Pursue your dreams another, Mom, and let the children be.
