Pattern of using
mobile telephones differs from country to country. The French switch off their mobile telephones during lunch, the Chinese cut off their mobiles in very few seconds and the Spanish are fond of using Voice Mail. Indians are famous all over the world in making
Missed Calls. Indians have mastered this ‘art’ of
communication so much that they can actually ‘talk’ to each other by making Missed Calls. It has not yet been found out exactly how much missed calls are actually done every day by mobile phone users but according to an estimate of Mobile Industry, about 20% to 25% calls made, are Missed Calls. Messages like ‘I have reached safely’, ‘I remember you very much’, ‘Come soon’ and ‘Call Me’ are almost always generated in India as Missed Calls. Some
persons make only Missed Calls to the
opposite party. In such cases the opposite party bears
calling bill. If the telephone bill is paid by their employer, such persons receive many Missed Calls every day and they call back from their
landline to the opposite party who had done a Missed Call from mobile.
Mobile communication is still very expensive in India. Before a few months it was inexpensive to call from landline to mobile but now calling mobile from landline has become more expensive than mobile-to-mobile and mobile to landline communication. Still, Missed Call culture is flourishing more and more.
