The ugliness of life and
beauty of death
Introduction:
Life is still a mystery and many of those who have pondered
about it are in lunatic asylums today. The topic ‘ The
ugliness of life and beauty of death’ may portray a
negative attitude towards life. But these are some of the
flashes that occurred in my thoughts which I deem to share.
There have been many a theory put forward by eminent
philosophers vis-à-vis origin of life. But they are on
loose soil. The origin of an ‘entity’ called life still
remains a mystery.
Man is considered to be divine, since he is encapsulated
by ‘divinity’ ever since he is born. He needs to transform
his gross
nature to subtle nature. Well this is
metaphysics. Well Iam not interested in meta physics since
it deals with an ‘individuals’ nature. But iam more
concerned about the mass. History gives us the names of
many great people and seers. But are they really great??
We have
heard of many sages who have renunciated
for the purpose of self
realization. People say they are
unselfish. But the word ‘self realisation’ itself
contains ‘self’. They are indeed
selfish, but the priority
is different. I consider them to be
common men. For the
common man, the priority is material gain. But for sages it
is
self realization. And I haven’t heard anything such
as ‘mass realization’ wherein an ‘ignited’ soul initiates a
chain reaction among ‘nonignited’ ones. I have heard of men
who die a peaceful death through a process
called ‘samadhi’. But I haven’t heard them initiating
samadhi to others. This implies that they are selfish. May
be it is an ‘individual’ phenomenon, but when the
word ‘individual’ is associated it is selfish, isn’t it?
I would be emphasizing on the common man’s life in the form
of poetry.
The life we lead
Do not live for a few bucks more
Be a lively ‘human’, not a dunce ore!!
Be the butterflies singing merrily in galore!
Be the mellifluous wave across the shore!
Just do not live for a few bucks more!!!!
Don’t live for mundane desires to attain!!
It enervates you and the beauty of life to sustain!!
You enjoy women, wine and ‘ecstasy’ in vain!
Death is awaiting you, your life’s worst bane!!!
After death just tell me where is your pain and where is
your gain!!!!!
Glorified existence
Hey ‘Glorified Sir’, just remember the time you were born,
you were naïve!
In your childhood, you enjoyed playing with shells
listening to the mellifluous wave!!
In your adolescence, you were a hero of your lady love, you
were really ‘brave’!
In your manhood you had a bungalow and ‘worthless papers’
to save!
You became ‘unwisely’ wise and gave your fellows an
apparently right path to pave!
You were teeming to be the master deeming others to be your
slave!!
NOW, is there anything left for you to crave?
When you are sleeping deep inside your ‘homely’
grave!!!
