During the development of the Chinese performing art,the story-
telling art with accompaniment such as Xianghe tune,Hengchui
tune and Zaqu tune appeared in the Han Dynasty.Meanwhile,the Demotic Fu and the primitive singing and dancing art also originated.The former mainly tells stories in narration and songs while the latter melts different kinds of arts such as songs,music and dances.As the result of the progressive development of the performing art in the Han Dynasty,a series of narrating song poetry came into being in the Western Jin Dynasty.Some of the poems tell the
historical facts in
history,some adapt the demotic stories and some rewrite the history telling song poetry in former dynasties.All of their contents are historical with certain plots and all of them are closely related to music,songs and dances.The historical events and characters mentioned in them became common contents of story-telling in words and songs literature in later dynasties.The song poetry's characteristics that melt narration and perform was inherited by the latter.Therefore,not only did the narrating song poetry have the deep influence on the development of the story-telling in words and songs literature,but also was the source of such literature.It is necessary to recognize its status on the history of Chinese literature.
