Locdted in the central area of the Shenfu coal mining area of Shaanxi Province, Shu jigou is one of the tributaries of Ulanmulun
river at the upper reaches of Kuqy River, its catchment area is 3. 3 km2.
Shujigou watershed belongs to the typical interlocating zone of wind erosion and water erosion. The distribution of wind erosion, deflation mainly, is ex tensive, and that of water erosion, sheet erosion and gully erasion mainly, is controlled by surface material and terrain conditions. Valley and gully gravitational erbsion is serious here.In this paper, Shujigou in Shenfu Coal Miring Area is taken as a representative water shed to study temporary and spatial distribution arid characteristics of wind-water inter action. The essence of wind-water interaction is that one erosivity remakes erosive forms formed by the other. In a year, wind erosivity remaking water erosive forms and water erosivity remaking wind erosive forms happen alternatively. The spatial distribution of
wind-water erosion interaction is similar to water erosion zones. On sandy slopes, rocky hills, in surface gullies and sandy valley gullies, wind-water interaction is extensive and shapes its characteristic erosive forms. In addition, erosion evolution of the Shujigou wa tershed since Holocene is studied. It can be classified into 1000~6000a BP, 7000~6000a BP, 6000~3000a BP and late Holocene Stage.
