A method of variable electro-inductance control which is suitable for inverter-type CO 2 arc welding power source is introduced in this article.Following this concept ,the variable electro-inductance controlling model is developed by means of the MATLAB software,as well as,the simulation for the dynamic system consisted of inverter-type power source and arc load with the control of variable electro-inductance is given.Compared to the linear electro-inductance control system,the difference current waveforms of variable electro-inductance control system are obtained,such as two stages of current slope-up velocity in the short-circuit period,and double-stage of current slope-down speed in the burning period,which is to reduce the short-circuit peak current and increase the energy in burning period.The experiments demonstrate the results of the inverter-type CO 2 welder,controlled by variable electro-inductance,in decreasing the spatter and improving the bead aspect during short-circuit arc welding are obviously effective.
