The Gifts and Goals of bearing a Cross to Carry throughout ones Life in 21st Century
In the present day and age
people are fairly divided even now in the 21st Century among each other which makes life more difficult for certain sections of the Community.
One such group are known to get very little if any publicity except on certain occasions when famous people become involved in an accident, injury, illness, or impairment – they are classified as “ disabled”.
From our experiences over recent times. The government; community; and employers have shown very little concern if any at all; even now in the 21st Century society seems to still be in those habits with very little improvement.
Society right now in the 21st Century they are still surrounded by problems & difficulties that I enhanced in my early years; the main areas that are on a continuous basis are EDUCATION EMPLOYMENT, ACCOMMODATION, COMMUNICATION, PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP, SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS, TRANSPORT, ACCESS, SPORT, MEDIA all these heading have been of problems confronting the Disabled originally yet now in the 21st Century the society is copping these problems regardless of their status, even the wealthiest or upper class have some of these problems they will be affected of in their livelihood at some stage; thence they will have to contend to the habits and learn what those with certain Disabilities did certain things to overcome certain problems.
Whereas the problems confronting the Disabled are also confronting the ordinary person – so as to say there is no reason why Disabled people in all walks of life should be treated equally not like has been for a considerable period where the Disabled have been looked down on and treated as “second class” citizens; particularly those on ‘pensions’ & other social income. Disabled people make more efforts in trying to be able to study to the best of their abilities, except in certain groups who have difficulties in readings or understanding various subjects like English for some and Mathematics for others.
Disabled people try to be ‘independent’ in different ways; but it takes some longer than others, by their staying with their parents most of their life; till they eventually feel less intent on staying with their parents and make plans to live elsewhere.
For most Disabled people o social benefits who are on them permanently they don’t feel ‘independent’ like others working & the majority of disabled people would prefer to work which in the long run would enable the person/s to be more ‘independent’.
Parents & teachers from across Australia when they plea to the Government to spend more on Education, than maybe envisaged don’t have representations to see that Special Education for the Handicapped will or should be increased at all levels; as a means of concern in this area the Federal Government needs to set an example to other Governments, Employment Companies and Society as a whole.
These examples would make a big difference in showing and carrying out the formats to improve the Special Education and improve in making more efforts to INTEGRATE the Disabled with the others and to try and educate all sections of the students to learn about the DISABLED and ways and means they could help those around their class when that arises, and in so doing it would bring more closeness than what is realised by Society.
Employment is another area that needs to be delved into as the Disabled have certain difficulties in getting permanent, casual and other forms of employment, which shows the difficulties surrounding the Disabled are more complicated than what society tends to realise.  More publicity need to be in order to educate society in one or more ways.
