The cloister and the Jadwizansi sisters'' convent were founded in 1856 by Ludwik Markiefka. The construction was begun in 1857 and continued in 1861, 1879, 1902 and 1929-1931. Today''s convent consists of three parts: the oldest, central, Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Gothic; eastern, Neo-Gothic from 1902, designed by Ludvig Schneider - the author of the Neo-Gothic reconstruction of the central part and the western wing, built in 1928-1931, designed by the Upper Silesian Building Society from Hajduki Wielkie, The whole, in spite of being eclectic and built within 60 years, is a successful combination of elements in different styles. The way in which the authors of the western wing used the stylistics of Gothic is particularly noteworthy.
