Yesterday I had written about Fancy Dress Competions arranged by every school and my child''s
performance
in such a
competition in pre-nursery class and in nursery class.
As my boy had not been able to utter the slogans so zealously taught by me, I had closed my abstract with three questions : Whether the child was a dumbo? Whether the teacher''s were putting too much strain on the children by asking them to say a few words on the character/article personified by them? Whether our tutoring had not been upto the mark?
I had the answers this afternoon. My boy''s school mate (in another section) had to undergo the same experience today. I asked him about his
performance on the stage. Dutifully, confidentally and lucidly he began with a greeting, gave all the information viz. his name; his section and his occupation (for the day). I was so impressed. His teachers teachers must be happy too. This boy''s performance was spectacular.
All this while, my boy hid behind me. Smiling. Brave and bragger at home but very shy in public. We have to find ways to rid him of his stage fright and better his performance.
Through with one performance, we have now to prepare him for rhyme competition. We have been asked by the teacher to teach him two rhymes. He recites both the poems well at home (though mispronouces certain words). Whether he will perform well on the day of the competition, no one knows? Whether he will recite one of the poems he has learnt well or he will opt for a third one no one knows?
