He is a disabled, enigmatical healer. The psychic healer Jose Eboña or commonly named as “Mamay” was born on unknown date in Padre Burgos, Quezon Province, south of the Philippines. He has grown unschooled and cannot ascertain his exact birth day and year. Somebody told that a mystic spiritual mother cared for him while still inside the maternal womb. His biological mother gave birth to him with inborn defects—having his lower limbs paralyzed, deformed, and shrunken. He has the belief that his age is over a century now.
Despite his defects, Mamay has traveled everywhere to various places in the Philippines giving psychic medication to believing local (and foreign) folks, curing them with afflictions seemingly outside the natural and physical laws. He seems to be able to respond or exercise some
supernatural or occult powers yielding curative powers against some evil
witchcraft.
