A couple in their will leaves $960,000 to The Humane Animal
Welfare Society of Waukesha County.The
donation comes from the
estate of Lester R. and Marie J. Howitt Winzenried. They were Waukesha County residents who had a long history of making donations of money and land to benefit the community. Lester died in 2000 and his wife in 2005. He inherited real estate among other forms of monetary gain. Lester used to operate a butcher shop and his family also used to farm parcels of land to make a living. Marie attended Carroll College which received a million dollars from her estate . As much as you see going wrong in the world today, it''s nice to hear something positive. It makes you realize there still are people out there that care about the
welfare of others.
