Alexandria, the old beauty lying lazily beside the “Mediterranean white sea”, I really can tell you about her, her old stylish
streets are beautifully windy, her weather is kindly romantic, so many things to do, so many places to visit and so many bushes to eat in, you meet people from all over Egypt also you can never miss the foreigner faces everywhere, but here we all share every thing, we all walk in the old
streets and watch the old shops we all share together sandwiches and ice cream and juices, we all have fun together and fancy places usually are so empty, people come to visit her from all over the planet, but among all of these races comes the Alexandrians, or “Eskandaraneya” as they liked to be called, these special race grown between two great old civilizations, the old Egyptian
civilization “Pharaohs” and her small child the Roman-Greek civilization, these people who survived “Christianity” and “Islam” in their birth are the same people who opened on the modern civilization with Europe step by step, people always prepared to every new in life with a smile.
The hot summer, streets are over crowded, you feel your city is stolen from you, you feel you never get enough of her in Summer cause so many people share her with you, that’s why most of Alexandrians love her winter more than her summer, cause in winter she is all yours with all her beauty and charm, all her rain and wind, all her clashing waves and fresh morning breath. The spring is warm and colourful, when the colours of flowers are competed by the sea colour and no one knows which will win every year.
The Autumn always gives Alexandria the old lady touch, with her old nit dress, and it is known here as the most elegant season of all.
I don’t know may be I love her too much; I love to walk in her streets after a small shower, a simple walk in “Raml station” viewing the people, the small and big shops, the sunglasses and small stuff with vendors on the passway, having a hot Cocoa in Brazilian coffee, waiting for your friends in the rain in front of a Cinema, watching the sunset with someone you love, going to an old fish restaurant in “Abu Kier”, having an ice cream from “Bahary”, sitting in a café by the sea with old friends chit chatting in the cold freezing wind.I will stop for now cause I am sure my words shows how much I love her.
