Is A Serious
Business In what way is life
a serious business?
The
fact that we pass through our
lifetime but once, life is indeed a serious
business. How serious? Serious in the sense that God gave man wisdom, that he
may be able to do things with reason. Yet God also gave him
conscience, that he
may realize what is right and what is wrong. If in his lifetime, man would use
his reason and conscience, then his life would be balanced.
A
Chinese proverb says, “For each man to whom Heaven gives birth, the earth
provides a grave.” We are not in
control of our life forever. We grow old and die. Yes- plans are necessary because they provide us with direction.
We avoid hit and miss or trial and error because plans are laid out. However,
if we appreciate the beauty and value of life that God has given us, then the
plans that we make must be based on reason and dictates of our conscience.
If
the events in our life do not turn out as we plan or expect them to be, we must
accept them with serenity and open hearts. We must always remember that in
life, we do our share – yet there is a greater Master, God, who directs it. Our
life, therefore, should be according to His will and Divine Master plan!
