"If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of
human reason - for then we would know the mind of God." -Stephen Hawking (In his answer to: Why do we and the universe exist?)
What is the reason we exist in this world? What's our difference? People are arguing about religious difference. He claimed that his god created the
earth and she her god and my god, what a mess. Siblings arguing over who's father is the best? If god created the world and
living things, why do we still argue over the difference? Assumption, we are from the same origin and for the same reason.
If to live is to die, what's the meaning of living? Prediction, there is a reason and death is not the final goal of life.
What is the difference that makes human so superior over other living things in this world? An elephant can even remember more than an average human does yet doesn't make it the king of the animal kingdom, so where does that put us? Killer whale can speak few languages in number of different dialects. We speak and yet we do so to hurt each other. What gives us the right to rule and judge the world that doesn't belong to us?
Animals have brain but can't(unable) think about the importance of the ecology;
humans have brain but don't think; woods, trees and plants don't have any and yet sits on top of the food chain. Which is worst? Result, we are in no way better than other living things. What is left for us to compare against humans is animals.
If animals were created before human like what the bible states, shouldn't we respect our 'seniors'? If human was so important, why was Noah instructed to bring along every type of animals and not every type of human? It is human's fault for introducing war and kill human beings. It is also human's fault for the extinction of animals like black rhinoceros, red wolf, macaw, condor and others. If human is the 'disease', then we can blame humans for everything the globe is facing. If the existence of plants is to provide food, what is the
value of human's existence? If the value of existence of human is so low, then what is the function of human in the cycle of life? Equation, if we were to put it this way,
(Function of Human) X (Contribution in and towards the earth) = Value of existence
and since our contribution that benefits the earth almost equals to zero, the value of our existence also approaches zero.
What makes us better than animals? If we were to compare animals to humans, we would say that we rule. Did the animal not say so? We can't run any faster, can't live any longer, can't breath under water, can't fly, can't win a fight empty-handed and so many disabilities. Animal fight with other types of animal when they sense danger. Human fight among human just because they have different skin tone or different opinion.
We have hands but busy doing things which will only benefit ourselves if not hurting others. Many people have come to realise the importance of helping needy ones and treating others with respect. Charities and donations are going on everywhere but look at us, expecting people to treat us nice as if we deserve it.
"Think of the poorest person you have ever seen and ask if your next act will be of any use to him." -Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948).
We think we should rule the earth just because we have a brain that thinks. When in fact we never use more than, sad to say, 5% of the true ability of what our brains can do. Have we been deceiving ourselves in saying we have better brains than animals do?
We have feet but busy running away from those who need help.
