Managing Stress

I’m always under

action.” I’m suffering distress due to
diseases, says Mary. When people are
under constant
pressure, they’re completely distressed.
Recalling the teachings
of Lord Buddha, “whatever problems we experience come from the side of the
mind”, you will really get enlightened with solace.. If we were to respond to difficult situations
with a positive or
peaceful mind they would not be problems for us; indeed we
may even come to regard them as challenges or opportunities for growth and
development. Problems arise only if we respond to difficulties with a negative
state of mind. Therefore, if we want to be free from problems we must learn to
control our mind.
If we integrate
Buddha’s teachings into our daily life we will be able to solve all our inner
problems and attain a truly peaceful mind. Without inner peace, outer peace is
impossible. If we first establish peace within our minds by training in
spiritual paths, outer peace will come naturally; but if we do not, world peace
will never be achieved, no matter how many people campaign for it.
