ESPERANTO - THE
UNIVERSAL AUXILIARY LANGUAGE==
By: ELVIO ARMANDO TUOTO== The language
ESPERANTO was created by the doctor
L L. Zamenhof in 1887. The first book published was "La Lingvo Internacia" (in english: The International Language). The pseudonymous of Zamenhof, "Doctor Esperanto" , soon
became in the name of the language. It was propagated soon, but at the end of the thirties it suffered a hard restraint, because of the wars and political repression. People who practise esperanto consider it as the easier language in the world, and as a
universal language. It doesn´t belong to any country, state or cultural. The esperanto has a destiny: to be the international and auxiliary language, the second language of anybody (the first one is the own language). Its vocabulary is formed by roots of modern languages european, latin, classic greek... Its grammar has 16 rules without exceptions, and the alphabet is phonetic. This language is very popular in Internet, where typing the word esperanto you can obtain more than one hundred and twenty eight pages. There are also hundreds of forums and thousands of electronic mail addresses of esperanto speakers from 95
countries. The Esperanto is the most succesful planned language nowadays. At the end of 2003, la "Universala Esperanto-Asocio" (The worldwide Esperanto Association) had 16.978 members in 111 countries, y el "Universala Kongreso" (Universal Congress) gather together about 2000 - 4000 people each year.
