As I sit here typing, wondering, is the world ready for The Caprine Scene. We got the first step established, although it is a bit shaky, and I stand here and wonder as we attempt to get to the third step, is the 2nd step going to crumble beneath us. You see - we are trying to start something a little different. We are not wealthy people, nobody is handing out money to in suitcases! Trying to get a business off the ground with the eventual intent of actually being a help to a community is hard. When that business involves Goats - nobody takes you seriously and they stand back to watch, and wait for failure. BUT - not the whole world is against, there are a few who stand out, and will try to help, though not financially, but encouragement. That little bit can be what keeps you going, and makes you determined to succeed. Its trial and error starting out, its trying to figure out where the next bit of extra cash is coming from to help pay the rent on the land, the feed bills. How are you going to get a small milking parlour ready, how are you going to get the milking machine. How are you going to get the extra goats needed to supply that cheesemaker? Who knows! We started out about two years ago -with two little does, Tia and Snowy, as pets. We hadn''t a clue what we were getting ourselves into, but once started, we got addicted as we found out more and more information on the versatility of these animals. We were on a road to learning something that we never thought we would learn. Joy, heartache and loss, but also determination and the opening of eyes.
