look at your city such as i choose Madison then look towards the longitude and latitude on which Madison lies. Then look at cities connected directly to Madison , take a look towards the physical structure of land area. etc. Like this expand to next level take map of USA try to understand your national physic political line of control etc. Then for studying Space science is just you need a little bit interest in stars. EG: take Mars look at the size find the distance and other statistics related to measuring the space bodies. So these are simple methods which can be very useful to school students.
