I've been thinking about - Religion

Article Summary by: readirect

Original Author: Byron
Religion, been thinking a lot about it lately, since I am now in the third trimester of my life. I think I
may become a Hindu. Why you ask! Well just think about it. They believe in reincarnation. Let me explain my own personal experiences with organized religions. I will try to put them in perspective as I see and have experienced them.
“Mormonism” Well I was born a Mormon, I have to say, I was raised as a “Jack Mormon”. I believe this the best commercial religion ever; they have good parts and bad parts. The good part is they take care of their own. The bad part is that they have no concern of anyone else other than their own. They are the best business people I know of. Seems that their only requirement in order to get to “Heaven” is to pay a tithing of about ten percent of your income to them, believe me, they know what you make and can find you anywhere on earth, our government should be so efficient.  “Methodism” Well, I have very little bad to say about this organization other than I was married as such. The only reason I was, was due to a very fine man, reverend Cook. He was very instrumental in my early teen years. But true to nature the members of this congregation where hypocrites and I was from the “Wrong side of town” and should not be allowed to attend “their” church. Thank you to reverend Cook and allowing the Youth group to be there.  “Catholicism” Well, my first introduction was when I went with a friend of mine to a Palm Sunday service. I couldn’t believe that we were there listening to a person speaking Latin, not understanding any of it, I asked my friend what he just said and he told me “I don’t know”.  I later went to a couple of sermons in English, made more sense, but I started to do research on the whole history of the church. Well I found out that from what I can tell, this religion is very old and very well organized to make money. The difference between them and the Mormons is that they do not even take care of their own. All that they ask for is that you give them money in order for you to go to “Heaven”.  “Seventh day Adventists” Well, guess I just don’t get it. They claim that there are seventy something thousand or so that have already been chosen, to go to “Heaven”. It just seems to me that with the billions of people that are and have been that this number was probably exhausted with the Neanderthals.  “Judaism” Well, I have no personal experience here. I think that they have a very good out look towards “Heaven”. From what I can tell, they do not believe in heaven and hell. Rather a closeness or distance to “God”. Makes a lot of sense except, isn’t closeness the same as saying “Heaven”?  “Islam” Well, I guess I could never believe in this due to its chauvinistic beliefs. I will say that I would believe that Mohamed is on the same plane as Jesus; both were prophets in the true sense of the word. The Koran believes in Jesus and therefore I believe in the true teachings of the Koran. I do not believe that the true believer of Islam is evil as portrayed by the evil of Osama and his lackeys.  Just the whole Seventy something virgins thing for a martyr going to “Heaven” come on, this is only for men, what happens if a pious woman goes to “Heaven” does she also have the same number of virgin men? “NOT”  Well, this brings us full circle to why I want to become a Hindi, well think about it, they believe in reincarnation therefore there “Heaven” must be here on earth, I don’t know about you, but I could use another lifetime to figure out which religion is correct.

Read your thoughts woven with sincere and innocent feelings

Hi, I just read your thoughts woven with your sincere feelings. Nice to feel sincere souls existence all over the world without any religion or physical boundary. There is no need of any religion for a truly holy or pious man that is why all holy saints lived their life, and the people behind made a new religion in their name and start blowing flags in his name. The requirement for religion is for weaker section of the society in any country. Otherwise how many times you need religion while performing your daily chores, I believe, in fact, you don't get time even to think wha
