RETURN VEGINITY TESTING
the culture of virginity testing was one of the most profound cultures the zulu nation has ever heard, and i tell you if this culture could be returned, we will see the difference.
Take for instnce in country, girls as young as 9 years old start experimenting with sex and the government is no helping the situation. Earlier this year a bill gave girls as young as 12 years old a right to go to clinics for both abortion and contaceptives without the parent''s consent, which basically just seal the whole deal.
WHY SHOULD VIRGINITY TESTING BE RETURNED?
*Pride
This will create pride among young girls about thier virginity, i think as a young girl aged between 12 and 18, who has not bee touched that should be the biggest achievement.
*Protection against deseases
Today there''s about hundreds of sexual transmitted deseases out there, inluding the last wall AIDS, now it''s very rare to get these deseases if you not anganging on sexual relations.
*Teen Pregancy
This is the only way we can deal with the issue of teen pregancy, teenage pregancy is another challenge that we are facing as a country and unless we apply drastic measures nothing will work, one of them is virginity testing.
*Less baggage on families
Living in South Africa gets expensive everyday, and that simple means that we ought to try to have as small families as possible. Who knows may be everyone might have enough.
*Parents
Since the begining of democracy in South Africa, Parents have been slowly losing a grip on thier children, i just heard a few day ago that you cannot slap your child anymore, if you do, you get arrested or pay a fine of R300.00. That simple say parents are losing thier children and yes i think virginity testing can bring that feeling of parenthood over your child.
*Community Pride
It was a long time ago when communities used to sit and chat about how a girl from the area has made them proud of holding on as a virgin for a long time. Instead our society gets annoyed everytime they see those young girls in skimpy skirts. That''s not how we want our communities to feel.
CONCLUSION
Virginity testing has had alot of opposition in this country from different human rights organisations whom themselves are failing to come up with a solution. I believe that a child needs guidance on everything that it does, that is why it''s a child. That simple means that some of her decisions have to be taken for her, to unsure safety. Now giving rights to a child is like living her with a stove and boiling water. We you know what will happen there, same as what''s happening in our society today. Like it or not VIRGINITY TESTING remains the only solution
