This
education was flushed down my throat… EDUCATION??? Once there occurred, an incident a student was cracking jokes while the
teacher was teaching in the class. The teacher turned and accused the child of being ill mannered
despite of being educated. Oh god! I didn’t know that we are educated. I thought we are just literates. EDUCATION? What is education by the way? Is it just reading good books and keeping them aside extracting only pleasure out of them? Or is it passing out one’s graduation or post graduation? Or scoring well in the exams just to impress people around us? For me education is what we
apply from whatever we have learned so far in our education or in our universities. Not only what we apply, but how does it really helps us become a good human being, how can we really help others with our education. Because in our so called educated society, women are still subjugated and are unaware of their
true potential or are involved only in petty stuff like ‘Saas-bahu’ hot topics. Men at times are still ignorant of the fact that a woman holds dignity, self respect. Murders, rape, thefts etc still take place in our ‘Educated’ society. Oh for our sake why can’t we come out of it and realize the true substance of education? For me education is about how I can contribute towards society in my unique way, helping others to pull out their full potential when they are in their lowest phase of life, empathize with them, encourage them rather than sympathizing with them. Encouraging them to live their lives despite of many ups and downs encountered. This
kind of education can be a solution for problems like say, displacement due to development. Education which teaches us to be considerate to others, is what is education. Some how we are losing the track of this kind of education and unfortunately today still in many parts of the world education is just a degree. But I also appreciate people who are striving to achieve this kind of education, trying to make use of their education…
