Our cell group is called “ASHER”. God founded it through the love and intercession of our beloved cell leader Ms. LV Mallari. We are a campus-base cell. We met every Thursday night 7pm in front of the Procurement Service inside the University of the Philippines Diliman Campus. I could still remember the first time I met my cell leader ate LV whom I used to call as mama LV. It was one afternoon during my freshman year; I was sitting inside the Kalayaan dorm lobby to borrow some readings when someone approached me. What I could remember was that she was always smiling, and then she asked me if I was interested to rent a bed space then I didn’t know how the conversation turned to be about the cell. When mama LV invited me, it was the cell meeting of the Gaddelles lead by ate Jill. It was a very wonderful experience because for the first time in my campus life I felt so welcome. Everyone in the cell was smiling and everyone seems very happy. The next cell meeting I attended was the first time I met my today’s cellmates like Kenny, Honey and Joie. It was beside Kalai. Before that cell group has no name until God whispered the name Asher to my cell leader. It all started in the cell group that I truly encountered God. It was because of my passion to attend those late cell meetings that I asked my mom to let me rent a boarding house inside UP. Amazingly, I stayed where my cell leader lived. Then when she graduated I transferred to a boarding house in Area 2, where all 8 residents were from the cell group Jedidiah, Right now, I lead the worship in our cell that is when I am not absent. These past cell meetings I seldom attended our cell because I’m not renting a boarding house anymore. I decided to go home everyday. But God is so good to rebuke me. Indeed, God has given me a family where I can grow more and more in love at Him. In times like that, God always reminded me of my first love and passion in attending the cell meeting through the love of my cell leader and cell mates.
