THE Honeymoon

Article Summary   by:unique_says     Original Author: Self - Harshika Arora

Hardly had a week gone by from our marriage date, when I was surprised by my doting husband with the much-awaited surprise package – tickets. A trip for two to Mauritius. The envelope certainly brought those smiles on my face that could melt a million hearts, but then only one special heart melted.
With the passports and visa formalities all through, we were set for our departure on the third day of this very special evening. The aroma of excitement was better felt among my in-laws who had by then become an inseparable part of my very own life. Did I have to ask for help in my packing n stuff from bhabhi…man…it had already begun. And of course, well begun is half done. The Special-Day…!!
My elated spirits had set the atmosphere around me on fire. It was my dream day for my dream journey with my dream man. Certainly a dream! This convinced me even more- dreams DO come true. The clock struck the perfect hour for our move.
Delhi IGI Airport…!!
What else could make this dream even dreamier than having two sets of parents and all other family members (surprise !!) to see you off for your first international j’ney.
Bon Voyage…!!
Those lengthy and tiring plane j’neys would never find themselves a place in my memories. They are better forgotten than written down.
The landing…!!
I had already started realizing that ‘two is company n three is crowd’ ain’t always true. For trips like these ‘n’ is company and ‘n+1’ is crowd; where ‘n’ needs be a constant in the shortest time ‘t’. And certainly, integration is the best applicable mathematical tool for such tours. Being a Piscean and maths hons. grad., I had proved the above statement well before hitting our oh-so-beautiful hotel.
Chek’n in …!!
The red marital bangles are always so gracefully welcomed and so were my white ones. Indian traditions – Zindabad !! We were finally checked-in in my kinda ultimate, perfectly decorated dream room: Big room; A comfortably positioned double bed with snow white linens; An idiot box to accompany wifey while hubby darling is out for his ‘samjha-karo-peer-meet’; The amazingly stunning and unimaginable view of the combo of snow-peaked mountains and waterfall; Armoire; Et all. Does the award winning toilet need a mention?
First day…!!
A warm hug and emotional kiss always maintain their urgency and dignity. Why dignity? Well, guess it came out on its own. Personal ..eh..!! A quick hot shower had to suffice our tired nerves coz..blonk blonk…
The Bus…!!
The weather, company of my sweetheart, chura in my arms, digital camera and the thought – I am on my honeymoon, set the perfect blend for this dream vacation. Oopsss….kya kehna… The weather for sure was chilly and I wanted to scream – someone tell Armani, their jackets don’t give THAT warmth. True..? yeah…
After the common lunch, we were all set to different directions with our better halves to spend the better half of our dae(intended). (lemme combine all dreams days in one single para-kaun itna likhe). The exotic sceneries were mind blowing, the breathtaking view of mountains left us spell bound. What a pity to have these ultimate sights captured only in eyes. Click click…technology always stands by. Who would disagree that a sunset walk down the beach ain’t romantic..? That one straight look in my eyes said it all and oops…heart melted. The hungry look of eyes was soon felted in stomach and was as quickly satiated with the best available four-course meal.
Nights fell by and mornings dropped in. Dates suddenly took their turns within the winking of eyes. And lo..behold..time to bid farewell to those mountains and ‘n’ kith and kin . . Ups and downs do come, but that’s the beauty of a couple so much in love with each other.
Last day…!!
The only thing in my memories…tears in eyes. Tears of departing with the place. Tears of such wonderfully wound up dream trip. Tears of not having our families share the moments. Tears of emotions welled up coz of the unending love of my hubby. Tears of happy emotions to be with family again. Only tears…
Delhi IGI Airport…!!
Hey dad...hey mom…we are back… The trip back home was never meant to be in silence. Experiences took shape of words. An unforgettable experience.
Thankyou for everything…
I love you, Dear Husband.
