How do you "know" when you have met "the one"?
Sometimes we can experience a temporary feeling of a very strong
emotional
connection, according to Bob Grant, whose newest book
we are discussing here this weekend.
However - don''t go only by " feelings" when it comes to your
emotional well-being with men.
"Your feeling intense is not always the best indicator of whether
someone is good for you or not," Bob writes in his book.
You protect yourself in one way by having your non- negotiables
in mind when you are getting to know a man.
"Since you already know what qualities your man will have," Bob
says, referring to the process of determining the kind of man
you want, "you now have no worries about ending up with the
wrong person. You want a combination of feelings and non-
negotiables."
This applies to men as well as women. Bob tells a story about a
good friend of his who wanted to find a woman to commit his life
to, but who kept ending up with women who were unattainable. Bob
shares how he helped his friend to see what the common thread
was, which provided the "clue" to unlock the reason things were
not working, over and over.
With this in mind, his friend began dating a new woman, the one
he would marry within a little over a year - but at first, "he
didn''t feel the same intensity toward her."
Fast forward to the present - Bob''s friend is happily married to
this woman and "he adores her." Fascinating!
