We are taught that we have equal opportunity and potentiality to rise up.
Is everyone born equal?
Is one responsible for what he/ she is or will be?
The accidence of one’s birth determines one’s country and climate, religion and culture, mental faculties and physique, economic and social status at birth. A white child is better placed than a black one. A child born in USA or Japan partakes riches. One from a poor country like, say, Somalia, shares its poverty, diseases and death.
People from temperate climate are more enterprising than those from hot regions. Extreme climate sets limits on your horizon. Look at the advanced nations. They are all in the temperate regions or the forefathers of the present occupants come from such regions.
If the government is democratic one gets freedom. If the state is authoritarian one’s freedom is curtailed. If you are born blind, deaf, mute crippled, mentally retarded or with propensities for madness, you are unlucky. But if you get excellent physical and mental faculties coupled with a conducive home environment you are lucky.
INEQUALITY IS BLATANTLY EVIDENT AT BIRTH ITSELF. AND THE SOCIALISTIC UTOPIA OF EQUALITY IS SIMPLY A MYTH.
There are many who have overcome the crippling circumstances of their life.
.
Abraham Lincoln was from a poor family, the son of an illegitimate woman. He had no wealthy or influential relative. He had to work from his early childhood to earn a living. Still, he managed to rise up and he eventually became the President of USA. Well, there are hundreds of successful men like him.
Helen Keller was deaf, mute and blind. Still, she became one of the greatest woman ever lived. But such cases are very rare.
Edison, the famous inventor, Andrew Carnegie, Rockefeller, Henri Ford, Bill Gates and so on- some of the richest people-started their lives from zero.
Demosthenes, the great orator, from ancient Greece had stammering when he was a child. Beethoven was deaf, Milton blind, Franklin Roosevelt had weak legs But they all succeeded. But are they exceptions? Need not be. But they had to struggle much more than others born fortunate. Further, if you are mentally deficient, feeble minded, or neurotic you have no chance to even try. Poor you!.
Further, Nature is indifferent to man.
It is not concerned whether you are poor or rich, happy or unhappy smiling or crying, Sick or healthy, even dead or alive. There is only one purpose for your life here from an evolutionary angle: procreate. The instinct for sex is so powerful that this purpose will be largely accomplished.
Everyone is born unequal. Physical, mental, cultural, intellectual, emotional and economic attributes vary from person to person. Early childhood environment does the rest.
Whether you get a loving, secure, healthy and prosperous home is unpredictable. So also your mental and physical
inheritance. All the above combinations work together to shape you up. Unless you get a good frame work you cannot build upon it. Whatever efforts you put may not bear much fruit if the fabric you are made with is deficient in itself. You may be able to
sharpen whatever you have; but you can never change the material with which you are made. Inequality is the law of nature.
