There is no doubt that
spirituality has for centuries been a focal
point of man's long sort-after endeavors without
which he cannot
function reliably as the case may be. It has
equally generated heated
debates as to how and where to express it without any hindrance
whatsoever. Arguably the need for man to exercise his right to function
under this- his own predetermined concept of
spirituality, had lead to
his desire not only to accent his will and authorities as governed by
his conscience, equally to demand that it be included among his divine
given fundamental human rights. Many faith based institutions have
equally emerged proffering their own ideologies as to how man should go
about in his quest for a true spirituality for an ultimate satisfaction.
Spirituality is noted to have given man his own sense of belonging,
in fact it has so well distinguished him from his
contemporaries-animals, who lacks the very faculty of logical reasoning
which is inherent and equally synonymous with SPIRITUALITY. However,
one is left wondering "WHAT TRUE SPIRITUALITY IS" yes "WHAT MARKS A
TRUE SPIRITUALITY?"
Definitely, to be identified as one have or exhibiting a true
spirituality the following is without doubt not far fetched but
attainable if not the prerequisite to a true spirituality:
One must have the mind of Christ by reading the accounts as
recorded in the bible about Jesus' way of thinking, his depth of
feelings, and motivation behind his actions. Yes reading the bible is
as important mark of spirituality.
God's Holy Spirit, or "active force" must guard one, because it has
the power to transform a person's mind, so that it begins to resemble
the mind of Christ.
One should be a man/woman of prayer on a regular basis and
sincerely too, as true spirituality and prayer go hand in hand.
As Jesus was no hoarder of knowledge, likewise it's equally
essential for one to share his believe with others as Jesus did by
preaching. One could determine the depth of his spirituality by making
an honest self-examination of his /herself.
