Usually people find it difficult to remember the name of the people they meet. But

So how to remember names? There are many techniques people use to show that they remember names.
A British Prime Minister used to ask the people who came to meet him:
“How is that old sickness of your?”
Te visitors used to be very much impressed as they thought that the Prime Minister remembers everything about them.
Who does not an old sickness?
Well, almost everyone.
But when it is asked by the Primes Minister, it carries weight.
There are others who ask: ‘ what is your first name? ‘ (as if he knows the surname)
This is a trick which make the hearer think that hem knows his other name.
Well, on has to be aware of the scientific principle to remember the names of people.
The first and foremost is to hear the name properly. Hearing vaguely sill not register he same in your brain.
Hearing properly implies, the correct spelling and how it is pronounced. It is also essential to know the initials and their expansions.
Suppose you met Zachariah P.S.  Make sure how his name is pronounce and spelt. Ask for the expansions of initials.
REPEAT THE NAME A NUMBER OF TIMES DURING YOUR CONVERSATION WITH HIM.
There is a common feeling that it is awkward to repeat  name often. This is absolutely incorrect. Everyone like to hear one’s own name as often as possible.
TAKE INTEREST IN HIM/HER
Gather as much information as possible about your new friend. Ask his whereabouts, his job or study , family, friends and so on. Of course avoid personal questions Let the whole conversation be a pleasant experience.
ASSOCIATE A FEATURE OF HIS FACE WITH SOMETHING YOU ALREADY KNOW.
This is the most crucial of all. Suppose the name of your friend is Krishnan. Observe his facial features. Associate a special feature of his with Lord Krishna which you already know. Project that feature into your friend’s countenance. If you succeed in this you will remember his name whenever you meet him later.
Suppose you meet Megha Ravi. You can associate the hair of that girl to a cloud. Project her hair to that of cloud I your mind. Later when you meet her and se her hair you will remember cloud and megha will come to you as her name means cloud.
But there is a small problem here. Many of the names may not have any significant connection to an object. Take the name, Bobby, foe instance. It does not bring any association in your mind.  Look for the nearest bearing a resemblance . You can think of bob or bow or something like that. If you feel bow is the nearest one, associate a feature of his face with it. If you successfully see the mental image, whenever you meet him you will see a ‘bow in that feature of his face and the name Bobby will jump into your consciousness.
The effort you put to associate a feature of the person to something you already know will help you recollect the name more effortlessly.
