Getting
traffic fines or in Malay called “
saman” is a norm for a driver
especially
parking or driving in
KL or PJ. Well there are not only traffic
police can issue “saman” as many are aware, there are others like MBPJ, DBKL,
JPJ and Polis Diraja Malaysia … if I am not mistaken (I originate from Pahang
but drive in KL). So do not be surprise
if one day there is few different “saman” come to your way.
I believe this is not the first time
being voiced out. Hectic lifestyle in KL is a definite for a normal human being
to feel the same way. I must say that I respect
the traffic police or implementers for being committed and efficient in
anytime, anyday. If one committed illegally parking then “saman” would appear
in front of their eyes in a blink. Though it is just for few seconds or for some
business whatever people like to call it. No doubt, SALUT E to the implementers
for the effectiveness in carrying out their duties well. That is only in parking, when come to road block;
you may as well get to see them in the middle of the traffic
jam especially in
peak hours, yet not sure what is it all about…
Being effective and committed are another thing, I would suggest they
should get to know the word “timing”.
Road block in other than the peak hours to avoid massive jam! No
surprise there are thousands of citizen died of high blood pressure-- pressure
of working and getting stuck in traffic jam for nothing. They should also be
tolerant sometimes. With ¾ of KL citizens of the capable group and having high
purchasing power, 1 family owning a few cars usually seen. Due to the limited
parking in anywhere in KL and PJ,
drivers are forced to park at roadside
unintentionally. It is reasonable as long as it is not obstructive for others
cars on the road. Yet “saman” all the way long.
If it is obstructive, then m fault and would love to pay for the “saman”. But
then it seems that the location for drivers to pay “saman” is very troublesome
and not convenient frankly. There is no system like online-banking to allow
money transfer. Not to mention a specific location or a booth that allows
drivers to easily paying all different “saman” at once. Ever heard of one that
got up to 500 “saman”? Well got the answer then. Indeed, it is very
inconvenient for all especially those who do not know the exact location for
it, like me. Thinking there is somewhere in PJ that I can pay DBKL “saman”,
ending up wasting petrol travelling here and there in PJ because “saman” got in
PJ. As a driver in KL-PJ for few months, seriously I do not know the measure
for authorities to take action like in my case. Getting DBKL “saman” in PJ? Or
there was once I got Polis Diraja Malaysia “saman” in front of shop lots? Anyone
knows?
I do hope something should be done in order to encourage drivers to pay “saman”.
