Kolangal dance in Kalladathoor

Book Summary by: Arshad22

Original Author: manorama
Venue: Valluvanadan temple
The padayani performance made the nights in Kumaranalloor in Palakkad become daytime.
Bhairavi, which had lighted torches on its chest and forehead and the small kolams bowed the deity. The devotees were all part of the padayani, which ensued.
For all those who reached there this was an altogether different experience.  Thira, Poothan, karimkali  all were dancing violently. This central Travancore ritual is being held in a Valluvanadan temple for the first time. The padayani was organised as part of the ‘dhwaja prathishta’ and ‘dravya kalasam’ in Kalladathoor temple.
