Marriage is tasting heaven in hell. Jashrina is a devout Christian with an open belief in fair faith that when
she married a Moslem Tausug an an early age, she is catapulted to a life of constant changes and diverse life practices. Jashrina, having an earnest goal of building her own family succeed in maintaining a 16 year
marriage with her
husband and 3 sons. Moslems and Christians are but common race of men who aim to simply coexist and be happy.Jashrina hones herself to be submissive yet righteous with her husband. She learns how to do the Sambahayang better than her own husband. She fast during Ramadan season and refrain from eating pig''s meat. She dons the veil and memorized Al-Fatiha. She learns the language of her husband and becomes satisfied in what she has rather than what she wishes to have. In return, her Tausug husband learns of her Christian ways and loves her much more than he loves himself. Love grows to respect for many simple sacrifices and difficulties they endured during the most troublesome times of their married life. And is still walking hand in hand as they trudge the rocky road of life with a single goal--to win over all of life''s obstacles no matter what hindrances they encounter. Oftentimes, marriage falls apart simply because no one wants to believe in self-sacrifice and being happy with little things life can bring. This is realized in the life of Jashrina---whose eyes never failed to see love in even the most challenging times of marriage.
