Are We Going Back To The Stone Age

Article Summary by: pvariel

Original Author: Rediffnews/other news agencies
Apropos the news item, "Yet another purification ceremony at Guruvaayoor temple in Kerala".(Rediffnews, Times of
India and other news agencies dated 22nd January 2008). How sad it is to read such news that we Indians treat fellow being in such a discriminate manner!

Knowing fully well about this temple practice why people (non Hindus) are rushing towards it and creating chaos among the people. It seems, it is a publicity stunt. Whatever may be, such treatment to the devotees is an uncalled for system. A state which is in the forefront for literacy and other aspects, can anyone expect such treatment to its fellow beings. Of course now the person involved is a foreigner, what about the treatment meted out to one of our own cabinet minister and his family members? The said minister and family filed a case against the temple authorities for the ill-treatment they received at the temple at the time of his grand son’s thread ceremony.

This is type of treatment and rules are definitely a sad trend to follow. The authorities should make note that, God never implemented any such rules for Hindus or non-Hindus instead all are equal before god. It is high time that the people in authority should take strict action against such people who create distress and utter chaos among the people.  This type of incidents shows that we are going back to the Stone Age, how sad it is!!!
