Century XX witnessed the development of four important aspects in the history of
music: 1- the increasing nationalistic spirit; 2- Appearance of North American
composers and Latin American; 3- the ascension of
international styles in music for the first time since the period of
Century XVIII; 4- the search of new hârmonicos principles that substituted the traditional harmony of tonic-dominant. 1- the
nationalism became marcante of Spanish music. The Soviet composers, dominated for the communist government, had created an officially anti-romantic perspective, known as socialist realism. New American 2-Compositores had started to express ideas of vanguard of much importance in the music of century XX. Latin America produced composers very important as the Mexican Carlos Keys and the Brazilian Heitor Villas Wolves. 3-between the international styles in the beginning of century XX the impressionismo appeared, bred in France for Claude Debussy and later with Maurice Rayel. The Russian composer Igor Stravinsky was innovative, creating some
musical styles. Its creations had taken it of the nationalism and neoclassicismo until the dodecafônicas compositions. The first ballets of Stravinsky, as the Sagração of the Spring had been soon accepted as classic contemporaries. 4- New harmonic principles, the musicians believed that already the resources of the tonic-dominant system had depleted all and said that music needed a new hârmonica structure. Innovations had been made and had conflict, with composers, public, conservatives and criticos. The experiences had been made of two or more tonalities at the same time. In the decade of 60, the nationalism left to represent a force in erudite music. The musical world represented a similar situation to century XVII, when international styles dominated the scene musical and composers of the most diverse origins and schools could share of the same artistic tips of sight
