It happens every Sunday or other day of worship. People go to thier respected houses of worship and pray to thier personal chice of a spirit they call God. Whether it be Muhammed or God or Jesus or Buddha it is all the same. As Shakespaere said a rose by any other name is still a rose.
Temples in the Far East are filled with devote persons in need on sanctuary and guidance. Catholics file into churches for a mass on more than one day a week. Leaving they feel relieved and charged up to face another day. Religion plays a large part of the majority of people of all races and ages. It has for centuries and will for many more. So what is it that turns off certain minorities to the point they connect with the ACLU and fight our government use of the words God and the pledge of allegiance for just one example.
The right to choose one's religion is a privilege gauranteed in the Constitution. It was put in there to protect each person's freedom to worship God as he or she chose. Or in the case of Atheists, to not believe in Him. No one force feeds them to believe in a Higher Power so why is it they use federally funded groups like the ACLU to swallow thier nonbelief..
Boy scouts believe in God so they should not be associated with government or veteran based groups. Crosses need to be removed from grave markers of veterans because they want separation of church and state. This is a smoke screen fueled by a handful at the expense of far too many.
Pews are filled by thousands weekly. Children are inspired with words from Bibles or other holy texts. Should we abandon the pews since they say so? Is it not right having Chaplains in the military since it may clash between church and goverment? Where does it end? What will they find next to go after? Will it be courts making witnesses stop swearing on a Bible to tell the truth?
For now the pews will continue to fill. The temples will continue bring in the ones desiring guidance. And sadly yes the handful of Atheists supposedly representing the majority of thier group will continue to cry out loud why we are wrong. Let it be made clear that not all Atheists are behind this mass protest of separation of church and state. Maybe if more spoke up the noise would stop all together.
