The gods are not to blame is written by Ola Rotimi and has been the play I like reading and would like to share.The play is a tragedy and we have a tragic hero who was destined to kill his own father and marry his own mother.This bad word should be stop and this is how to stop it is by killing the unlucky messanger so the baby of the King of Kutuje was tied with strings of cowries to be sacrifice in the evil grove but awesome will of fortune gave life to him as the King messanger did not killed the child rather gave him to far away stranger hunters boy Alaka who gave the child to his master Ogundele and Mobike who trained the child as their own son.Gbonka the king messanger returns to testify that the boy is killed in the evil grove.By some years the god of fertility fills Ojuola the nothing with a child.Odewale our tragic hero grew in the hunters house whiles one day a friend of the man who he know to be his real father said to him the butterfly thinks himself a bird.Odewale went to old man to knows about his future.The oldman told him he has been destined to kill his father and marry his own mother and to stop this fate he must run away promissing Alaka when his parent die he should tell him.
Odewale did this because he think they were his real parent.On his way to three foot path at ede he kill a man who insult his tribe as bush they fought because of yam land .O dewale kill the oldman and his bodyguards with the power of Osun.He buried the man there but one bodyguard escaped to tell his story.This man our hero kill was his own father.The peolple of Okulo take this opportunity to kill Kutuje people since their King was dead.Odewale challange Okulo warriors and killed them.So the people of Kutuje put away their traditions and entroned Odewale has the king of Kutuje and as custom demands he married Ojuola his own mother.The gods were not to be blame when Gbonka disobey the king and gave life to the child.
